The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Your name and email address are collected when you register for an account with My Spirit Safe, either directly by specifying your name and email in the registration form on our website or by signing in via a 3rd-party social provider (e.g. Google, Facebook, etc.).

We use the information that you have given us in order to provide you with basic product functionality. Each whisky/spirit collection requires an owner, and only that owner can view/edit their collection. As such, a user must register for an account so they can view/edit their collection and so My Spirit Safe can persist that collection in our database so the collection’s owner can continue to view/edit their collection in the future.

We do not share your personal details or your collection with any third parties.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  • Your consent. You are able to revoke your consent at any time.

You can revoke your consent by sending an email to hello@myspiritsafe.com that specifies your name and the email address that you used to register with My Spirit Safe.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored.

We keep your name and email address for as long as you maintain an account at My Spirit Safe. We will delete your information upon request. Send an email to hello@myspiritsafe.com that specifies your name and the email address that you used to register with My Spirit Safe.

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
